The proposed Ferrybridge development is a massive and unnecessary incursion on to the shore of the Fleet, an area of special archaeological and scientific interest.

It will be a ‘stand-alone’ complex forward of the natural line of the existing buildings and will be a full story higher than the existing building.

It will provide 30 new units to sell in an area that already has many unsold new units after several years on the market.

In addition Weymouth has many fine Georgian, and older, buildings but since the removal of the old railway stations it does not have many fine examples of Victorian construction.

The Ferrybridge Inn, or the Royal Victoria Hotel as it was, is a fine example and should be restored to its former glory so that it can continue as the only public house in the area serving the local community, holidaymakers and the many walkers on the coastal path.

Finally if this development does go ahead then it will mean the end forever of ever building the Wyke Regis relief road, the last link in the Weymouth Ring Road, KEN PORTER Ferrybridge Weymouth
