SUNDAY, 4th September is the Langton Herring Horticultural Show followed by a BBQ (you must buy your tickets beforehand!) – the show is meant to be fun so rules are at a minimum, but we want lots of entries!

ALSO on Sunday 4th September we have another Rag-Bag Collection – you remember that we have done 2 of these already & raised over £150 for the Hall & Church, so by recycling your old clothes you help the planet AND raise money!

So come on, all fabric - clothes, bedding (no quilts or pillows), curtains, shoes & boots (tied or taped in pairs), hats, belts, coats (even old Barbours!) – put them in bags & leave them in the back of the Church or at 3, Court Close.

ON the subject of painless fund raising: please start/remember to use http://easyfundraising.org.uk when buying on-line – register, then select Langton Herring Church & Village Hall as your cause, enter the retailers name in the search box and carry on ordering as usual – easy as that!

The retailer pays the premium, not you & you DO NOT give your details to anyone else other than the vendor - each purchase will generate a donation to our cause – we have 16 people using it so far and have raised about £130.00, think what it would be if 30 people logged on!

TUESDAY, 6th September at 7.30 pm, is the first autumn meeting of the Village Club – we have Debbie Watkins of the Dorset Wildlife Trust to talk on “Grasslands” – this may sound an unusual subject but it promises to be fascinating.

We will be hearing about West Dorset Reserves & Kingcombe Meadows – the conservation & management that makes them such havens for rare and endangered species of plants & animals – also DWT’s work with the farming community, to help them create & maintain species rich grasslands.

Do come and join us – visitors £2.00 – you will be most welcome.
