HARVEST Festival services continue in Portesham with a united service beginning at 1030 am at the Methodist church on Sunday, 25 September.

The following Sunday, 2 October, sees Harvest Festival Morning Praise take place at St Peter’s Portesham at 1030 am.

There will be a speaker from the ShelterBox charity at this service as ShelterBox will benefit from funds raised from the St Peter’s Harvest Supper which takes place in the village hall on Saturday, 15 October, 6.30 for 7pm.

A few tickets priced at £6.50 are still available from Liz Draper on 871316.

SATURDAY morning village cafes also continue with the Bridge club hosting on Saturday, 24 September with the Lunch Club on Saturday 15 October. Usual time 10 am to 12 noon at the village hall.

THE village hall will be busy over the first weekend in October with Chesil Scout group holding their Pig Race on the evening of Saturday, 1 October.

Tickets are £5 to include a Ploughman’s supper and there will be a bar available.

The following day, Sunday, 2 October, sees Ben Osborne’s Jurassic Journey visit Portesham through the Artsreach programme.

Doors and bar open at 7pm and tickets, priced at £7.50 for adults and £6 for under 18’s, are available from Gill Brignell on 871925 or from Tuesday Post Office cafes.

TUESDAY, 27 September will also be another busy evening with the Portesham Village Hall AGM at 7.30pm in the Ron Doble room and Neil Lovesey talking to Chesil Bank Garden Club about a “Bee-Friendly garden”, also at 7.30pm.

ABBOTSBURY and Portesham RBL will be at the Ron Doble Room at Portesham village hall at 7.30 pm on Thursday, 6 October to hear Selwyn Williams’ talk on “Chesil Beach Shipwrecks”, whilst RBL Women’s section hold their AGM plus cheese and wine at 7.30 pm on Monday, 10 October.
