SPARE tools are needed for a training project for young people.
Transition Town Bridport (TTB) and the Bridport Local Area Skills Training (BLAST) will be running courses for unemployed 18 to 24-year-olds to teach them basic practical skills. The scheme is supported by BLAST’s Skills for Self Reliance program.
They need hand tools, drills, saws and other DIY tools that people no longer need?
TTB also wants to hear from anyone who can give some time to train youngsters in simple DIY skills?
There will be a series of short courses on Workshop Practice covering the use of hand tools for working with wood and metal, and the elements of joinery, plumbing and electrical wiring. Sessions will also cover solar water heating and PV solar panels.
The initial course, starting in the New Year, has been designed to last five days, and there will be places for six applicants.
