GENEROUS customers at a Weymouth fish and chip shop helped brighten up the lives of young patients at Dorset County Hospital.
Money raised by Alf’s Fish and Chips enabled Karen Pearce, who runs the eatery with husband John, and daughter Jacinda Dye to drop into the Kingfisher Ward with a delivery of personal DVD players, toys, games and music equipment.
Karen said: “We had a charity box on the counter for people to put their change in and they have just been fantastic.
“It’s something our customers are happy to donate to and we have raised just over £200.”
“We often do a lot for older people but we thought it was time to do something for the young for a change.”
Play specialist at the Kingfisher Ward Sally Burnham said: “Donations like this are very welcome and we are very grateful to all the people that have supported Alf’s Fish and Chips to create such a magnificent array of gifts for the children to enjoy, which will aid them in their recovery.”
