Dorchester’S Citizens Advice Bureau has been given a cash boost from West Dorset District Council.
The district’s three CABs have been given a total of £209,601 to help with their running costs until 2015, with the bureaux at Bridport and Sherborne also receiving a share of the funds.
The move keeps up a long tradition of support for the CABs from the council. Its support has helped the CABs expand their services, with outreach services now covering rural parts of the district and Chickerell.
West Dorset District Council leader Robert Gould said: ‘“The CAB does an excellent job. I am delighted the district council is able to give this money to continue to help and support the bureaux carry on their fantastic service especially in these difficult times.”
The district council’s executive committee has also agreed to provide £17,576 in support to four Youth Information Centres in the district.
The funding will help Routes in Dorchester, The Mill in Bridport, INSPARATION in Lyme Regis and The Rendezvous in Sherborne run until 2015.
