DORSET Police are offering advice in a bid to reduce car crime.
Police chiefs are urging motorists to remove valuables from vehicles and stop car theft from rising.
In March, April and May 2011 thefts rose by 105 incidents (14.28 per cent) in Dorset.
Car thefts increased from 736 incidents in December 2010, January and February 2011 to 841 reports in spring 2011.
Safer Neighbourhood Team Inspector Les Fry said: “This is a type of crime that can be prevented.
“If you leave anything on display in your car it is an open invitation to a thief.”
