WHEN the motocross season kick-starts for the members of the Ringwood Motocross Club on Sunday (10.30am) at Tincleton near Dorchester, one of the club’s familiar faces will be challenging for club championship honours.

Shea Wylie, eight, from Parkstone will be competing in the smallest class on show in the Autos 50cc group for six to nine-year-olds.

Wylie has been competing in youth motocross with the Ringwood club since he was just six-years-old.

The youngster also starts his third year in the sport with some help from local motocross dealer Future Racing UK, based at the Nuffield Industrial Estate, Poole.

He competes on a standard little KTM 50cc production machine and along with his collection of trophies and awards, one of his proudest events came when he was chosen to compete at the annual British Schoolboy Team Champion-ship for the Ringwood club last season.

A podium-place finish to the season is what the pocket rocket will be after when he competes for the title of British Auto 50cc champion along with 39 others in his age group.
