ETHAN Devaney and Danny Andrews starred for Weyline as they continued their title charge with a 5-1 win over Duke of Albany – despite being reduced to 10 men after just 17 minutes.

The Weymouth Sunday League Premiership leaders, who currently sit three points clear of nearest rivals Rodwell with just five games left to play, took the lead on four minutes when Devaney converted a through ball from Andrews from 16 yards.

However, the table-toppers then lost keeper James Parkes to a red card for handling the ball outside his area, forcing utility man James Aldom to fill the void. The stand-in stopper made an acrobatic save to deny Dean Will-iams’ resulting free-kick before Dev-aney doubled the lead on the half-hour with a fine volley from 25 yards.

The Upwey & Broadwey winger then brought the half to a close by returning the earlier favour for strike partner Andrews to blast home to make it 3-0 at the break.

The Duke returned for the second period in determined mood with Williams pulling one back on 55 minutes, but just a minute later Andrews restored the three-goal advantage with another composed finish after dancing past several challenges.

That strike put a huge dent in Albany’s resolve and it was no surprise when Devaney went on to complete his hat-trick with just five minutes remaining, this time by scooping the ball over keeper Neil Innes from close range.

In the Championship, league leaders Market House continued their impressive form with a 3-1 win over Galaxy Lions.

Derek Puckett netted a brace for the Maiden Street outfit, whose other strike came from Steve Bennett.

There was also success for The Clipper as they came from a goal down to beat Moby Dick’s 2-1. Mike Jones grabbed the equaliser before Sam Hayne hit the winner in the 89th minute.

Elsewhere, The Station beat The Dolphin 3-2, The Rock crushed Wellworthy 8-0, Broadmayne overcame Belvedere 3-1 and Sailors Return trounced Old Castle 7-0.
