Temporary Closure of Hackney Corscombe
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Hackney, Corscombe from the entrance to the reservoir southward to the junction with the A356 at Corscombe Cross, a distance of approximately 1,100 metre. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It came into operation on the 27 February 2012 for a period of 11 weeks. But it will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.
This Order will enable Wessex Water to install a new water main to Corscombe Reservoir.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE
The alternative route, which will be sign posted is as follows; from the northern end of the closure at the entrance to the reservoir proceed northward to the junction with High Street in Corscombe.Turn right and continue eastward along High Street and Fudge Hill to the junction with Court Hill.Turn right and proceed southward and south-westward to the junction with the A356.Turn right and continue north-westward to Corsocmbe Cross and the northern end of the closure.The reverse route applies.
For the duration of the closure access to Linhay Lodge will be maintained from one end of the closure or the other.

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath No9,
Winterbourne Steepleton
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All foot passengers will be prohibited from proceeding along footpath No9 Winterbourne Steepleton, from grid reference SY 6227 9076 to grid reference SY 6220 9063 a distance of approximately 150 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on the 5 March 2012 for a period of 7 weeks. But it will remain in force for 6 months and can be, extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.
The Order will allow Wessex Water to construct a new water supply pipeline from Lamberts Hull to Winterbourne Abbas water treatment works.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE
On this occasion there is no reasonable alternative Route.

Temporary Closure of B3147 New Road (The Weirs) Dorchester
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along the B3147 New Road [The Weirs] from its junction with Lower Burton Road northward to the lay-by, a distance of approximately 250 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on the 8 March 2012 for 9 days. But it will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary. This Order will enable Devon Tarmasters SW Ltd to carryout highway and bridge improvement works.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE
The alternative route, which will be sign posted, is as follows; from the northern end of the closure at the lay-by proceed northward along the B3147 New Road [The Weirs] to the The Weirs roundabout. Take the First eixt off the roundabout and continue southward along the A37 Dorchester Bypass to Monkeys Jump roundabout.At the roundabout take the first exit off and proceed eastward to the next roundabout.Take third exit off this roundabout and continue eastward along Middle Farm Way to the next roundabout.Take the third exit off the roundabout and continue eastward to Poundbury roundabout.Take the second exit off the roundabout onto Bridport Road and proceed eastward to Top “O” Town roundabout.Take the first exit off the roundabout and continue northward along The Grove to the junction with Lower Burton Road and the southern end of the closure.The reverse route applies. Temporary Closure of Weymouth Town Bridge Weymouth
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding over Town Bridge,Weymouth from North Quay to the junction with Lower Saint Edmund Street and Saint Thomas Street, a distance of approximately 100 metre. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It came into operation on the 5 March to 5 April 2012 a period of 4 weeks and 4 days and again from the 16 April to 20 May 2012 a further period of 5 weeks. But it will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.
This Order will enable Dorset County Council to carry out maintenance work to the bridge.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE
The alternative route, which will be sign posted is as follows; from the southern end of the closure proceed westward along North Quay to the traffic signals at Harbour crossroads.Turn right and continue northward along Westwey Road to the next set of traffic signals at Westham crossroads.Turn right and proceed northeast-ward over Swannery Bridge to next set of traffic signals at Kings crossroads. Turn right and continue southward along Commercial Road to the junction with Lower Saint Alban Street.Turn left and proceed eastward to the junction with Saint Thomas Street.Turn right and continue southward to the junction with Lower Saint Edmunds Street and the northern end of the closure.The reverse route applies except from the northern end of the closure proceed westward along Lower Saint Edmunds Street to the junction with Commercial Road.Turn right and follow the alternative route.
For the duration of the closure pedestrian access over Town Bridge will be maintained.
