I know King Street has always been a problem for traffic congestion but with the new traffic lights everywhere as well, it really has become a joke.

The King/Queen Street junction is a bottleneck for affecting traffic in the Park district, the seafront and beyond.

I work in the Park district and popped outside, greeted by the usual queue of traffic along Queen Street.

A driver asked me of a quicker way around the queue so I told them to go back through the Park district and up Dorchester Road.

When I asked him how long the queue stretches, he told me he had spent the last 10 minutes travelling from Derby Stores to Erotica Belle. A distance that can be walked in about a minute.

The King/Queen Street junction should have a yellow box junction, it might discourage a few people from blocking traffic. Or how about making it one way, away from the seafront, considering traffic can get to the seafront via Westham Road or by going through the town?

It’s a no brainer and if it were one way, both lanes could be used for turning into the train station, the petrol station and then for Radipole Park Drive.

Borough council – you’ve disappointed and insulted people enough.
