PORTESHAM village hall is again busy this week hosting Chesil Bank Garden Club on Tuesday, 24 April at 7.30pm when Ian Davidson gives a talk on “Soft Fruits” and the following day, Wednesday 25 April, sees another fascinating travel talk on Southern India by Roland Tarr in aid of local Portesham charity, Dors to India. Doors open at 7pm.

VISITORS to the village hall may have noticed the recent appearance of a bright yellow bucket in the lobby labelled Portesham Marigold Fund!

Many of you will be aware that Portesham is going bunting mad later in the year to celebrate the Olympic torch relay and the Diamond Jubilee. Part of the plans are to plant hundreds of marigolds along the route so any donations towards purchasing these will be gratefully received in the yellow bucket.

THE next community lunch at Portesham Primary school will be on Tuesday, 8 May at 1pm. The menu, costing £5 each, will consist of Chicken and vegetable casserole with rice and broccoli to be followed by Pineapple upside down pudding with custard. Order forms, to be received by Friday, 27 April, are available from the school office or the village hall.
