PARENTS have been briefed on the new Isle of Portland Aldridge Community Academy.
Those with children at Southwell Community Primary School and Royal Manor Arts College posed questions to headteachers, governors and sponsors at separate parents’ evenings.
The new £15million academy, which got the green light last week, will open in September.
The meeting on Thursday marked the first chance for parents to ask about the transition from the existing schools to new buildings at Osprey Quay and Southwell Business Park.
Paul Green, headteacher of Royal Manor Arts College, said: “With the announcement last week we wanted to offer all parents the chance to ask questions of the team behind the Academy development.
“We were delighted that, even at quite short notice, over 50 parents attended the session last night and contributed greatly to our planning.
“Questions ranged over issues such as transport, uniform, curriculum design and pastoral matters, and we have now set up an email group to keep parents informed about developments.”
The meeting followed similar events in volving Grove Infants School and The Chesil Cove Foundation.
