PARENTS can apply for their children to be included in a concessionary scheme if their children do not qualify for free school transport.

Dorset County Council is running the scheme, which helps pupils get to school using school buses.

This includes pupils aged between 16 and 18 and those travelling to faith schools.

The cost for a seat in the concessionary scheme will be £420 per pupil for the next academic year.

Applications will be prioritised against a set of criteria including disability, special educational needs and medical conditions.

To be considered, Dorset County Council must receive applications before May 25.

Parents whose children are entitled to free transport are advised to submit their forms as soon as possible.
