A CHARITY cyclist raising funds for casualties from the Rifles regiment stopped off at the Keep Military Museum as he peddled through Dorchester.
Former soldier Billy Hughes, from Poole, is on a 766-mile ride around the country.
Billy, who is disabled due to injuries sustained while serving in Northern Ireland, is raising funds for the Rifles Care for Casualties charity and a charity operated by the Provincial Grand Master of Dorset for people in need.
He said: “I believe it is down to us all to help where we can.
“I am unable to run due to injuries or walk long distances so I can’t raise money that way.
“Also, I’m not a millionaire so the best way I can help is to get on a bike and let that take most of the strain.”
Keep curator Colin Parr said: “We’re very impressed with Billy and his efforts and many people are set to benefit as a result.”
