A WOMAN was allegedly assaulted on a bus travelling between Weymouth and Dorchester.
Officers in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward following the incident.
The incident, in which a Weymouth woman in her twenties reported to have been assaulted by a man, occurred between 2pm and 3pm on Saturday June 9 on the number 10 bus.
Detective Constable Pete Lawrence, of Weymouth CID, said: “This bus travelled from The King’s Statue in Weymouth to Dorchester via the Dorchester Road.
“In am very keen to speak to anyone who was on the bus between those times.
“We understand that there were passengers who may have seen something that will help with the investigation to establish exactly what happened.”
A 59-year-old man from Dorchester was arrested in connection with this incident and has been released on bail pending further enquiries. Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 09:307.
