AN ILLEGAL worker has been removed from the UK and four more remain in detention following raids in Blandford Forum.
Seven illegal workers were found by the UK Border Agency in raids on three restaurants in the town.
A 21-year-old man from Bangladesh who had stayed illegally after his student visa expired has been removed after he was found working at Simla, West Street.
Three others, aged 25, 28 and 38 remain in immigration detention along with a 33-year-old man arrested in a raid at Bay Leaf restaurant.
A 30-year-old Bangladeshi man was arrested in a raid on Spice India. He was later released to the UK Border Agency whilst arrangements are made to remove him from the UK.
Spice India and Simla restaurants now face fines of up to £10,000 per illegal worker for employing them.
