DONKEYS, ice cream and a day on the beach will be top of the list for dance duo Twist and Pulse when they visit Weymouth.

The ‘streetomedy’ dancers, who reached the final in TV talent show Britain’s Got Talent in 2010 will be hitting the stage on Weymouth Beach on Thursday July 12.

They will be performing alongside rapper Wretch 32 in the Olympic Torch Party to welcome the Olympic flame and said they can’t wait to spend a day in Weymouth.

Mixing street dance, comedy and songs from as diverse backgrounds as The Lion King and modern pop music, Twist aka Ashley Glazebrook and Pulse aka Glen Murphy met at the BRIT school of performing arts and became best friends.

The pair, who have been touring the UK as part of the Torch celebrations, have also been taking part in the Samsung Hope Relay, a free app people can download onto their phones and for every mile they walk or run or ride then Samsung will donate money to charity.

• Speaking to the Echo Twist, aka Ashley, said they couldn’t wait to get down to the beach. He said: “We haven’t been to Weymouth before. We are going to spend the whole day there and have a look at what’s around.”

He said the guys liked to keep fans updated on social networking sites Facebook and Twitter about their adventures. He added: “We need to have a picture with the donkeys.”

He said the pair would be having a traditional Weymouth seaside day and would be trying the fish and chips and ice cream.

Ashley said there would be something for everyone in the show.

He said: “There’s a part where we interact with the crowd. We’re presenting the whole show – it’s a new thing for us but we are really excited.

“There are a few surprises in there – our dancing is still fast and there’s lots of comedy in there. It’s going to be really fun.”

He added that there would be an Olympic theme to the show.

Ashley said: “It’s a very family friendly show, there’s something for everyone. It’s all about the Olympics – we are buzzing about it.”

Twist and Pulse will be running with the Olympic Torch this Friday and Ashley said that everyone should take the opportunity to see the flame when it travels through Dorset on July 12 and 13.
