THE Thomas Hardye Ten Tors teams have raised £1,000 for local charities.

Two teams from the school’s Combined Cadet Force (CCF) completed the Dartmoor expedition in May to raise funds for two worthy causes.

This year they were raising money for the Dorset Deaf Children’s Society and the Dorset Youth Association.

The Thomas Hardye Combined Cadet Force presented a cheque for £750 to Martin Ring of the Dorset Deaf Children’s Society.

The charity organises social events and provides grants and equipment for hearing impaired children and their families throughout Dorset. They also provide information to help families make informed choices for their children's education and welfare.

The teams have also raised £250 so far for the Dorset Youth Association to buy GPS devices to allow more youngsters to enjoy the great outdoors.

Over the ten years the school has been doing the challenge it has raised more than £11,500.
