YOUNGSTERS are being challenged to spot and identify flags of the world in Dorchester shops. The Dorchester BID (Business Improvement District), the town’s Chamber of Commerce and Dorchester Town Council will be running the Flags of the World competition from Saturday, July 21. A total of 120 flags will be displayed in numerous shops and businesses in the county town to coincide with the Olympics. Children will be tasked with locating and correctly identifying as many of the flags as they can. Whoever guesses the most flags will win £75 to spend in one of the participating shops, with the runner-up winning a £40 voucher and third place £20. Competition organiser Phil Gordon said: “What a great way to spend some of the school holidays having a hunt around town to see if you can collect the complete set of stickers for your album.” Children wishing to take part in the competition can pick up their entry form and sticker album at the Dorchester Tourist Information Centre in Antelope Walk or from Bartle Pye in High West Street. The competition closing date is September 10.
