DISAPPOINTED Nothe ticketholders who didn't get to see any sailing yesterday were down but not out after yesterday’s postponement of racing due to lack of wind.

LOCOG have given three options to the sailing fans after the 470 medal races were called off due to lack of wind.

Either they will receive a full refund, get tickets to today’s medal races if there is space, or swap them for tickets at another sporting event.

Jonny and Andrew Norton said they had a good day despite not seeing any sailing. Jonny said: “It was lovely and blessed by the weather. Apart from the fact we didn’t we any sailing, it was a great place to spend the day.”

Andrew said that he had been to the last British Olympic games in 1948 and that he had really enjoyed the day and was happy with the offered refund.

He said: “These events have been brilliantly organised, everyone's very cheerful and positive. It makes such a difference.

“You feel friends with everyone, whoever they are and that’s something quite special.”

Father-and-son John and Rob Cotterell said they had not been told of the chance to exchange yesterday’s tickets for today.

David Morris said: “We were just told to go to the website for a refund.

“It would be good to get tickets but out here we don’t have access to the internet, so I doubt if there will be any left.

“Obviously everybody's disappointed, but in good spirits.”

Kirsten Bellham and Luciano Figueira also said they had been told to visit the London 2012 website for a refund.

Miss Bellham said: “It was a very nice atmosphere. It was a nice day anyway, it would have been nice to see some sailing. “ Mr Figueira said: “I was disappointed to be honest. There was a breeze there, I don’t see why it couldn't happen.”

Diane Holmes, from Wiltshire, said: “We were disappointed, but it was a nice day – it was our only chance to see an Olympic event.”

Her husband John said: “They kept us in touch with the speed of the wind and told us what it needed to be for racing to start. We were kept entertained whilst we waited.”
