Car fire on A35

A CAR fire on the A35 closed the westbound carriageway for twenty minutes.

Firefighters from Dorchester were called to the Tolpuddle area of the A35 at 11.35am to the saloon car on fire.

Dorset Police and the Highways Agency attended and placed a road closure on the westbound carriageway between Yellowham and Northbrook and traffic was diverted through Puddletown .

Firefighters extinguished the blaze using water jets and the road was reopened just after 12noon.

No-one was injured.
