WESSEX Wanderer Walks will be starting up again after a break during the Olympic Games.
The walk starts at stations on the Weymouth to Bristol railway line and the next walk will take place on Saturday, August 25, and on Wednesdays and Saturdays from then on.
There will be an 11-mile, medium-paced, circular walk from Filton Abbey Wood on the bank holiday weekend.
It will take in Purdown, Westbury on Trym and Southmead, seeing both urban and rural Bristol.
On Wednesday, August 29, there will be a ten-mile, medium-paced linear walk from Frome.
It will visit Great Elm, Mells and Whatley. On Saturday, September 1, there will be an 11-mile, medium-paced, linear walk from Yetminster to Maiden Newton , via Chetnole, Frome St Quinton and Chilfrome.
Each walk fits in with train times to and from Weymouth.
Walkers do not need to pre-book but should wear stout footwear, bring plenty of water and waterproofs. Dogs are not allowed on any of the walks.
The programme of walks has been running for more than 15 years and is organised and led by members of Avon, Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire Ramblers.
