A CLINIC will be offering free ultrasound leg scans and a free talk in Dorchester next month to mark Healthy Legs Week.

The VeinCare Centre in west Dorset is aiming to raise awareness about venous reflux disease, the condition behind varicose and thread veins.

Interested people can book now to have a free ultrasound scan during Healthy Legs Week, which runs from September 17-22.

They will be able to see if their legs show any signs of the disease and related complications.

The clinic is also staging talks where people will be able to find out about the latest treatment options and put their questions to one of the country’s leading veins specialists Dr Haroun Gajraj.

He set up the the VeinCare Centre at the Melbury Clinic in Holt Mill, off the A37, in 2002.

The Dorchester event takes place at 10am on Saturday, September 22 at the William Barnes Room, Wessex Royale Hotel, 32 High West Street.

Refreshments will be provided and the free event will last about 90 minutes with plenty of time for people to ask questions or have an informal chat with Dr Gajraj or his colleague Robin Windhaber.
