A FLOOD alert has been issued in Weymouth after a morning of heavy rain.
The Environment Agency has reported that water levels in the River Wey, Preston Brook and River Jordan are rising and flooding is possible.
The river banks could burst if rain continues to fall today.
Localised thunder storms may cause some surface water flooding, the agency says.
Local residents are being warned to be prepared.
The Environment Agency has issued nine flood alerts for the south west.
