LOVED ones will be remembered at a special service at Weymouth Crematorium on Sunday, September 9.

Weymouth and Portland Borough Council is organising the hour-long event and is inviting local residents along.

The council’s community facilities spokesman Andy Blackwood said: “This is the first time that Weymouth Crematorium has held a service of remembrance.

“We are inviting people to come along to the service for an opportunity to pay their respects to someone who they love and have lost.

“We hope that lots of people come along and that we are able to organise this service for years to come.”

The service starts at 2pm and there will be time afterwards for people to enjoy the grounds of the crematorium which is in Quibo Lane.

Anyone who would like to come to the event does not need to book a space, just turn up on the day.

Car parking at the crematorium is available and is free.
