A DELIGHTED pensioner has collected the keys to the new car she won in the Weymouth Carnival grand draw.
Dorothy Brown will decide what to do with the red BMW Mini because she gave up driving almost 20 years ago.
The 92-year-old Weymouth resident said it was a ‘marvellous’ feeling picking up the £12,000 vehicle.
She was presented with the car by Matt Conroy of Westerly BMW in Dorchester , Weymouth Carnival Queen Elysia Munday and Weymouth Carnival chairman Roger Hogbin.
Mrs Brown said: “I wish I was 40 years younger. I used to drive a Mini and it brought back memories.
“It was lovely to meet the carnival queen and the people there and have a joke with them.
“I cannot believe that out of all the thousands of people who bought tickets that I won.”
Yorkshire-born Mrs Brown lives in the Lodmoor area of Weymouth with her husband Alan, 94.
The pair have been married for 68 years and used to run the post office and stores in Osmington.
