WEYMOUTH singing sensation Perrie Edwards will wow local fans as her girl band makes a stop off in Dorset on their first-ever tour.

The 19-year-old, who is part of X Factor-winning group Little Mix, said that she was unbelievably excited to sing live for the county.

Her four-piece pop group, who are at the number one spot with second track Wings, will perform at the Bournemouth International Centre on February 16, 2013.

Perrie, who often comes back to Weymouth, said: “Words cannot describe how excited I am.

“It’s weird to think of myself in Year One at Radipole Primary School and now I’m going back to Dorset on my own tour.

“I come back to Weymouth quite often and see my family. I feel like it’s home.

“It’s so surreal because I hardly get recognised when I’m out and about in other places but when I come back to Weymouth I always get spotted.”

Perrie, who is dating One Direction heartthrob Zayn Malik, said she didn’t take any notice of negative comments.

She added: “I like Twitter and Facebook because that’s how our fans get in touch with us.

“But at the end of the day, everybody is going to have an opinion. It comes with the territory.

“Everybody’s going to have an opinion about you, and that’s fine.

“But being role models is the best compliment.

“We are just being ourselves. People see us for who we are.”

Perrie had some advice for this year’s X Factor contestants and said the girls always looked forward to a good chinwag with former mentor and singer Tulisa.

She added: “You’ve just got enjoy every minute. Take every bit of advice you get and just live every second on the show like it’s your last. Take it all in.

“These have been the best few months ever.

“There’s something new and exciting every day. But that’s not to say it isn’t tough.

“The other day we were on Daybreak and we had to be up at 2.30am to get ready.

“It’s a lot harder for a girl, never mind four girls.”

  • PERRIE spent her early childhood in Weymouth, attending Radipole Primary School, before moving to South Shields.

The star, pictured in a school photograph, shot to fame on 2011’s X Factor series after entering as a solo act and being placed in a band at bootcamp.

Originally the foursome was called Rhythmix, but changed to Little Mix after a copyright dispute.

The girls won the show under mentor Tulisa Contostavlos and hit Christmas number one with a Cannonball.

Little Mix, who already have an autobiography, are set to release their debut album later this year.
