Couple airlifted to safety

A man and his wife were airlifted by Portland coastguard after become stuck in dense scrub below Burning Cliff, Ringstead Bay.

Wyke coastguard was called at around 8pm on Saturday but the pair were in an inaccessible position for land unit rescue.

They were winched to safety and did not require medical assistance.

Before being edited the above headline was 'Couple airlifted to safety in Weymouth'. Perhaps now that Echo staff are paying attention they would like to remove both my comments. Thank you.
