PARALYMPIC sailor Helena Lucas has won gold in Weymouth and Portland.
She had been sat in gold medal position, with a nine-point cushion over second-placed Heiko Kroger of Germany. But a lack of breeze in Portland Harbour meant no sailing was possible today, ensuring gold went to Great Britain.
Lucas was the only woman in her class, the 2.4 metre one-person keelboat, and becomes the first British woman to win Paralympic sailing gold.
