Arrest after arson in Bere Regis
2:56pm Thursday 6th September 2012 in News
A MAN has been arrested by police investigating an arson attack in Bere Regis.
A large wheelie bin in a car park next to a dentist surgery in Manor Road was set alight last Saturday night.
Firefighters were able to stop the blaze spreading to properties.
Detective Constable Andy Stitfall said: “Fortunately no-one was put at serious risk in this incident and no-one was hurt, but the potential for that happening is obviously a serious concern.
“I would like to speak to anyone who can provide us with information that will assist us with this investigation.
“We are also very keen for information concerning any previous suspicious fires in the area, although it is not clear whether these are linked with Saturday’s incident.
“I appeal to members of the community to come forward if they feel they can help us put a stop to these fires.”
A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the Bere Regis fire and released on bail while inquiries continue.
