A 39-YEAR-OLD man from Dorchester has died after his motorbike was in a head-on collision with a car on the Weymouth Relief Road.
The incident happened just before 10pm yesterday evening on the Ridgeway Hill.
The biker was riding towards Dorchester when his Kawasaki motorbike was in collision with a Renault Scenic occupied by a Weymouth couple.
Dorset Police said the biker sustained ‘fatal injuries’ and died at the scene.
The driver, a 52-year-old man and his front seat passenger, a 50-year-old woman, were pulled from the car by firefighters.
They sustained serious injuries and were taken to Dorset County Hospital.
The A354 Weymouth Relief Road was closed for more than five hours while Dorset Police did a detailed examination of the scene.
Any witnesses to the incident are asked to call Dorset Police on 101.
