A NEW survey to gather views of carers will be conducted next month by the Department of Health.

The survey has been developed to learn more about whether services received by carers are helping them in their caring role and their life outside of caring.

It also seeks the views on the carers’ perception of services provided to the cared for person and carers are encouraged to come forward with suggestions and ideas for improvements to services and support. Questionnaires will be sent by all authorities to a random sample of carers aged 18 and older who have had contact with them over the past year.

More than 1,000 carers will be asked for their views in Dorset, and if you get a letter inviting you to take part, please spend just 20 minutes to make your voice heard.

The survey is confidential and the results will help to evaluate the services available for carers across the county.
