IF YOU’RE handy about the home and would like to make new friends and do something worthwhile, the National Trust in Purbeck wants to hear from you.

The charity is looking for handy people to join our friendly team of volunteers tackling everything from minor repairs to complete building refits and would particularly like to hear from those with trade experience such as carpenters or painter/ decorators, or from any experienced DIY enthusiasts.

Ideally you would be able to commit to a day a week but hours are flexible and volunteering can be tailored around other commitments.

You can chose to work in a group or individually on projects including building beach huts at Studland, maintaining holiday cottages and countryside tasks.

“Our existing volunteers enjoy the social side as well as putting their skills to use in a worthwhile cause,” said National Trust facilities manager Lawrence Showell.

“If you’d like to join them you would be very welcome.”
