Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses to an accident.

The smash, between a silver Mitsubishi L200 4x4 and a grey Volkswagen Passat, took place on Friday, September 21, at 10.30am on Damers Road near the turning for Gloucester Road.

The impact of the collision caused damage to both vehicles but fortunately the drivers, a 48-year-old man from Bristol and a 32-year old woman from Dorchester , suffered only minor injuries.

Dorset Police Constable Simon Lancey, of Dorchester Police said officers wanted to hear from witnesses, especially a cyclist.

He said: “We are particularly keen to speak with a cyclist who stopped at the scene prior to police arriving, but left shortly after without giving any details.

“We believe they may have information that can assist with our enquiries.”

He added: “This collision occurred on a busy main road and caused a lot of damage to both vehicles.

“Fortunately both drivers escaped without serious injury.”
