PANTO fever is set to sweep Weymouth this weekend when recall auditions take place at the Pavilion theatre tomorrow followed by dance auditions on Sunday.

Judges of The Panto Factor have already sat through two days of auditions at London’s Pineapple Dance Studios and the Pavilion and tomorrow they will choose 10 finalists from around 30 hopefuls to go through to the grand finals on October 7.

The judges – producer Jamie Alexander Wilson from Magic Beans Pantomimes, voice coach Jasette Amos, the Dorset Echo’s Ruth Meech and Maria Greenwood from Wessex FM – are looking for performers to play the lead roles of Jack and Princess Apricot in Jack and the Beanstalk.

The successful pair will appear on stage alongside singer Andy Abraham, Lynne McGranger from Home and Away and Anna Kumble, better known as singer Lolly.

The Pavilion is also hosting auditions to find dancers for the show on Sunday, from 9.30am.
