Walkers rescued after being cut off by the tide
11:26am Sunday 30th September 2012 in News
SIX walkers had to be rescued by the lifeboat after they became cut off by the tide at Lyme Regis.
The group, including an eight-year-old child, called 999 on Saturday evening.
Lyme Coastguard Rescue Officers were sent and found the party but could not reach them before darkness so the lifeboat was sent to retrieve them.
The lifeboat was met at Lyme Regis harbour where coastguards gave the party safety advice about the need to check tide times before setting out.
