Walkers rescued after being cut off by the tide

SIX walkers had to be rescued by the lifeboat after they became cut off by the tide at Lyme Regis.
The group, including an eight-year-old child, called 999 on Saturday evening.
Lyme Coastguard Rescue Officers were sent and found the party but could not reach them before darkness so the lifeboat was sent to retrieve them.
The lifeboat was met at Lyme Regis harbour where coastguards gave the party safety advice about the need to check tide times before setting out.

Yet more idiots with no common sense, especially when they have a young child in their group.

It is high time people who cause incidents like this thorough their own making got charged for costs.

Maybe they should learn to read the safety & advice signs that are in situ at various points along the beach, especially on Church beach below the Spittles area.
