A WEYMOUTH hotel held an alternative wedding fayre after the original event collapsed.
The Hotel Rembrandt in Dorchester Road threw its doors open to people wanting to get inspiration for their big day yesterday.
Between 10am and 4pm, dozens of people were filling the venue to get ideas.
The event was set up as an alternative after a wedding fayre due to be held yesterday at Weymouth Pavilion collapsed.
Dorset Trading Standards is investigating the collapse of the original fayre, which was planned by UpAbove Events.
The organisers of the Hotel Rembrandt event said they had a ‘steady stream’ of visitors throughout the day.
General manager Massimo Menin said they had a host of wedding exhib-itors at the day, with everything people could want to enjoy their big day.
He said they had bridal and menswear, jewellery, sweets, cakes, photographers, florists and decorators.
He said: “We had two rooms with a good mix of exhibitors and had a steady stream of local customers.
“It wasn’t as big as the original wedding fayre would have been. It was small but nice.”
