Sorry about the little girl but this is a local Dorset newspaper and the article says 'hundreds of local residents' which at first I thought meant that she had been missing from around here.

While our thoughts are with this little girl and her family, what connection does this item have to South Dorset?

Notice the "Follow developing story" heading.

These events, like the schoolgirl and teacher in France affair, have become 'reality TV' for all media regardless of whether they are really of national importance.

She may have gone missing from Wales but if she has been abducted she could be anywhere in the country, including our area. Surely you are not implying that the Echo should not assist in getting the word out that? This is a 5 year old girl for heavens sake, the more people who are made aware, the more chance there is she'll be found. I can only imagine the pain her parents must be in and I for one will be praying for her safe return.

Allowing a FIVE year old out on the road, where was her mother? Naturally I sincerely hope they find her safe and unharmed, but with so many sex offenders around these days one has to wonder about the sanity of any parent allowing a five year old out unsupervised.

Unfortunately, you can see very young kids on their own all over the place, like you i cannot understand the parents allowing this, one near me less than 4,and not long ago we had a 3 year old, wandering around all on her own.Nobody does anything to try and stop it.

There is no more danger from 'sex offenders' now than there was 40 years ago.
