EMPLOYERS and trainers are looking forward to meeting job seekers at the Dorset Echo Jobs Fair.

The Dorchester jobs fair will link people with jobs.

People who are out of work or those who fancy a change in career are invited to drop by and see what’s on offer.

Free workshops will run throughout the day to give people the chance to brush up on their CV writing, interview and confidence building skills. Stands are being snapped up fast by local and national companies who will offer advice and guidance.

Weymouth College is once again sponsoring the fair, which is being held on November 8 from 10am to 5.30pm at the Dorford Centre in Bridport Road.

Rob Jones, vice principal of enterprise and employability at the college, said the fair will be a ‘great opportunity’ to reach people who are looking for work or want a change in career.

He said: “We can offer advice and guidance on courses and qualifications in order to improve their chance of securing the job they want.”

Mr Jones added that college staff were staggered by the success of the first Dorset Echo Jobs Fair, which was held in June at Weymouth Pavilion.

“The attendance at the Weymouth jobs fair exceeded our expectations. The enquiries covered all types of courses such as full-time, part-time, apprenticeships, work skills and improving their maths and English.

“It just shows that people are keen to improve their chances of being successful in being selected for a job interview, and many are open to a complete change of career.

“As soon we were approached by the Dorset Echo to sponsor the new jobs fair we jumped at the opportunity to offer the same advice and guidance in the Dorchester area,” he said.

Training provider Bright Assessing has taken a stand at the fair.

Head of marketing Sam Thwaites said the company has a lot to offer jobseekers.

“We have a mixture of people coming to see us and people who’ve been made redundant and are looking for a new career.”

Bright Assessing, part of Bright International Training, has trained 650 people so far and has a 79 per cent job success rate.
