A COLLEGE is looking for a community project or good cause to become its Charity of the Year for next year.

The chosen charity will become the beneficiary of fundraising events organised by Weymouth College.

College spokeswoman Laura Culshaw said: “We would like people to send us details of their local project or local charity. Weymouth College staff and students will then vote and their preferred charity or project, which will be confirmed in the first week of November.

“Don't delay – apply now for this special opportunity."

Closing date for nominations will be Wednesday, October 31.

Students got stuck into fundraising for 2012’s chosen charity, Weldmar Hospicecare Trust and helped with a charity ball.

Charities and community projects who wish to apply this year should email laura_culshaw@weymouth.ac.uk or send details to Laura at Weymouth College, Cranford Avenue, Weymouth DT4 7LQ.
