PORTLANDERS have been praised for rallying around following the ‘mindless vandalism’ of a community mini-bus.
An Island Community Action (ICA) spokesman said: “To witness the impact that losing the bus, even for a short term whilst it’s being repaired, has had on some of our most isolated clients has been really upsetting. But our fantastic team of volunteers kept calm and carried on.
“Trips, exercise classes, lunch clubs, Tesco runs and hospital lifts were all accomplished, so also a huge thanks to them all.”
