THE first ever Harvest Ball for Home-Start West Dorset is off to a rolling start.

Organisers have praised people for their support as the Athelhampton House event looks set to be a success on Friday October 12.

Chairman of trustees Janet Kennewell said: “We’re absolutely delighted that all 118 tickets have sold out over a month ahead of the ball.

She added: “It’s a big venture for us as we have never put on such a grand occasion before.

“However, we have a dedicated ball team who between them have a lot of experience in such events.

“They have been working very hard to make the night a success and to ensure that all our guests have a wonderful evening.

“The things they have planned sound really great.”We have been bowled over by the level of support not just from guests buying tickets, but also by the businesses of Dorchester and Bridport who have given us so many fabulous prizes to be won on the night. We’re all really looking forward to a great evening.”

The Harvest Ball is being held at Athelhampton House, Dorchester and is being attended by Mayor Andy Canning and his family. Home-Start West Dorset is the Mayor’s Charity of the Year, and offers support and friendship to local families with young children who are going through a difficult time.
