HEART OF GOLD: Cyril Treviss of Dorchester
ONE great-grandfather donated money to the Purbeck Isle Memorial Fund from his 90th birthday.
Cyril Treviss, from Dorchester, asked for donations to the fund instead of presents for his landmark birthday and raised £320.
He said he didn’t want presents and wanted to put the money to good use.
He said he had been walking down the road to the Dorset Echo offices in Dorchester to hand in the money, when someone stopped him and asked where he was going.
When he told the man, he gave him another £10.
Mr Treviss said he had been shocked to hear about the Purbeck Isle going down and wanted to help.
He said: “It was very sad, very tragic.”
