A MAN has been warned that a jail term is ‘inevitable’ after admitting two counts of rape.

Phillip John Clayton, of no fixed address, appeared at Dorchester Crown Court to face two allegations of rape and three of sexual assault.

The court was told the offences took place between July 24 and September 2 this year, and that the victim was 15 years old.

Judge Roger Jarvis adjourned the case while a pre-sentence report is prepared.

He said: “You have made admissions to very serious matters, and I am quite sure you understand that imprisonment is inevitable.”

Clayton, 45, was remanded in custody until a sentencing hearing on November 8.
