TWO men were arrested after police swooped on a Weymouth house.

Dorset Police arrived at the house in Portland Road, Wyke Regis, yesterday evening and taped off the property while officers went inside searching.

A spokesman for Dorset Police confirmed that two Weymouth men were arrested on suspicion of drug offences and added that enquiries were ongoing.

Eye-witnesses said they saw officers shining torches inside the property as well as three police cars and a van outside.

One, who did not wish to be named, said that the officers had arrived at around 6pm and had put police tape up.

Officers were seen entering and leaving the property and forensic experts turned up to search the house and were believed to have been there all evening.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “We can confirm that two Weymouth males aged 43 and 47 were arrested yesterday in Portland Road, Weymouth, on suspicion of drug offences.”
