Weymouth bridge to shut for work

RESURFACING work will see a Weymouth bridge close for four days from October 22.
Dorset County Council will shut Alexandra Bridge between Hanover Road and Radipole Gardens until the end of the day on October 25.
A significantly longer diversion route for pedestrians via Dorchester Road, Spa Road and Radipole Park Drive is advised by the council.
A new surface will be applied to the bridge in a bid to reduce noise from its users.
Work is being carried out before the eastern cycle route- part of the Weymouth and Portland cycle network- is signposted, as it will send more bikes over the bridge.
