RESURFACING work will see a Weymouth bridge close for four days from Monday, October 22.
Dorset County Council will close Alexandra Bridge between Hanover Road and Radipole Gardens until the end of the day on Thursday, October 25.
A significantly longer diversion route for pedestrians via Dorchester Road, Spa Road and Radipole Park Drive is advised by the council as a new surface will be applied to the bridge in a bid to reduce noise from its users.
Work is being carried out before the eastern cycle route – part of the Weymouth and Portland cycle network – is signposted, as it will send more bikes over the bridge.
