A MAN convicted of drug offences has been ordered to carry out additional hours of unpaid work in the community after breaching his original sentence.

Jason White, of Herrison Road, Charlton Down, appeared at Dorchester Crown Court after admitting failing to attend for two appointments to carry out unpaid work in August.

The breaches came after White was sentenced to a 12-month community order in April for a charge of possession of cannabis with intent to supply which carried a requirement to carry out 240 hours of unpaid work in the community.

The court was told White had medical reasons for missing the appointments but failed to inform the Probation Service of his absence.

The 23-year-old, who had completed over 100 hours, was ordered by Judge Roger Jarvis to carry out a further 20 hours of unpaid work in the community.
