SELFLESS volunteers who give up their time to support others will be celebrated at an awards evening in Dorchester.
The annual event run by Volunteer Centre Dorset aims to support local organisations who have nominated their own volunteer heroes.
Almost 200 people are expected to attend the awards do, which is being hosted at the Dorford Centre in Dorchester on October 25 between 6.30pm and 9.30pm.
Titles are up for grabs in three categories including young volunteer of the year – for under 25s, volunteer group of the year and volunteer of the year.
The event, which coincides with national ‘Make a Difference Day’, showcases outstanding voluntary contribution for 2012.
